For the past 20 years, Lorena Forster has worked with early-stage technology companies, entrepreneurs and inventors in various technology commercialization related positions and through her own business advisory practice, most notably in the industrial, energy and ICT industries. Through her business Technology Venture Strategy, Lorena works with SMEs providing business advisory assistance and helping them develop strategies to access Alberta innovation eco-system resources and non-dilutive funding. Lorena has had various positions with organizations in the Edmonton and Calgary innovation eco-system including the Kinetica Energy Technology Accelerator (part of Innovate Calgary), TEC Edmonton, and Alberta Innovates (formerly the Alberta Research Council). She has experience in business operations in both the public and private sectors as COO of Alberta Women Entrepreneurs and Operations Manager of an ICT healthcare software startup.
Volunteer positions include: board member and active mentor for the University of Alberta Venture Mentoring Service (VMS), mentor with Futurpreneur, past board member/ treasurer of the Alberta Clean Technology Industry Association (ACTia), past co-chair of the Edmonton Chapter of the Licensing Executive Society and various executive positions on junior high and high school parent advisory committees.
